Bendigo Spirit are relieved that reigning MVP Anneli Maley will play against Adelaide in Mildura this weekend.

The star forward took an early plea, avoiding a one-match ban for what the WNBL match review panel described as a “careless, high-impact” misconduct incident in the second quarter of last Friday match against Townsville.
Maley’s physical play has been the topic of WNBL media throughout the week.

The incident comes in the same week that Basketball Australia’s integrity unit has been investigating allegations of crowd abuse towards Maley.
