Bendigo and District Table Tennis Association President, Gary Warnest, spoke at an inquiry held yesterday in Bendigo into the cancellation of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, stating this was a missed opportunity to showcase table tennis; a growing sport, particularly in the Paralympics with the sport being accessible for all.
Warnest said the association had no direct contact with the State Government at any stage of the process.
Victorian Premier Dan Andrews confirmed that no contact has occurred between him and the association.
