More than 11,000 megalitres of water will flow out of Lake Eppalock later this month to improve the health of the Campaspe River downstream.
Rochester residents staged a protest at the lake in July calling for more water to be released to prevent a repeat of the October 2022 floods – taking the matter into their own hands by emptying the lake with buckets.
Lake Eppalock’s storage level was at 100.35 percent capacity as of Monday.
