We are yet to hear the outcome of the Labor-led parliamentary inquiry into Victoria’s Native Bird Hunting Arrangements which recommended the divisive pursuit of duck hunting be banned across the state.
The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia’s Victorian branch instead urged the government to work with the hunting community to reform the way the sport is managed.
Animal Justice Party Member for Northern Victoria, Georgie Purcell, says she believes it’s far too late for this request.
Purcell states that it would be a waste for the state government to ignore the requests of the inquiry.
Purcell ends her commentary on the inquiry by stating it is time for Victoria to catch up with their state neighbours and ban duck shooting.
