Recent News reports say that Ambulance Victoria is looking into getting rid of single-responder Ambulance responses, threatening larger areas like Bendigo, with the reallocation of resources.

Ambulance Victoria’s ongoing crisis is putting Victorian lives at risk, that’s according to Nationals Member for Northern Victoria, Gaelle Broad.

Broad recounts a patient with severe abdominal pain, who called the local hospital, was told to make her way to the ER.

“In pain and feeling faint and concerned she would pass out in the taxi, the lady declined to
go in a taxi and her son took her to hospital,” Broad said.

“This lady has paid her ambulance service fees for years and when she needed one, it
wasn’t there.”

Single-responder units in regional areas, including Swan Hill, Shepparton, Wodonga and Wangaratta are at risk of closure.
