Bendigo Stores Listed as Measle Exposure Sites, as New Cases Confirmed

Bendigo supermarkets, a chemist and a pizza shop have been named active public measle exposure sites, after two new cases were detected in the state.

Measles is a highly infectious illness that can lead to serious complications, including pneumonia and brain inflammation.

The cases were infectious at multiple locations around Melbourne and Greater Bendigo and have no history of overseas travel or known contact with other cases of measles.

Bendigo Health’s emergency department, Woolworths, Chemist Warehouse and Aldi in Epsom, Coles in Bendigo and Lansell Square and Epsom Village Pizza have all now been listed as active exposure sites.

Suspected measle cases should be tested, isolate and notify the Department of Health immediately.
