Commonwealth Games Offer $200M to New Potential Host City

The cancelled 2026 Commonwealth Games may have found a new host city!

Malaysia’s Olympic Council has been offered $200m to hold the event, which was due to be hosted across regional cities including Geelong, Bendigo, and Ballarat.

Organisers had originally estimated the event would cost $2.8 billion but when costs soared to about $6 billion, the state cancelled its plans.
