New property data has revealed that renting in the Campaspe shire, which covers Echuca and Rochester, has nearly doubled in five years.
The average rent is currently sitting at $420 dollars per week, a major jump from $288 in late 2017.
The figures compare very unreasonably to Melbourne markets, where some inner city rents only increased by $30 to $50 over the same five year period.

For example, in Fitzroy North rents have only increased by just 7 percent.
Anglicare Australia have previously stated that only one in 10 Australians on JobSeeker, or student support, are eligible for federal support under current requirements.
