Victoria Police say driving in fog is one of the most unpredictable situations to drive in and recommends everyone ‘drives to the conditions’.

Some tips to arrive at your destination safely from VicPol include;
Slow down: If you’re driving in foggy conditions, give yourself extra time to get to your destination.
Brighten up: Make sure your headlights are on – but not your high beams, these can cause glare in the fog reducing visibility.
Leave some space: Increase the distance between you and the car in front in case of any sudden stops.
Follow the lines: Fog can limit visibility, so make sure you follow the lines to stay in your lane.
Pullover: When you can’t see, the best thing you can do is turn on your hazard lights and pull into a safe spot until the conditions clear.
