LGBTIQA+SB Regional Australians Face Barriers to Seek Help

An RMIT-led study in partnership with Switchboard, found although LGBTIQA+SB Australians are 20 times more likely to consider suicide, there is a major lack of support and safe spaces, especially throughout regional Australia.

Project lead and Dean of RMIT’s School of Global, Urban Social Studies, Professor Katherine Johnson, says LGBTIQA+SB Regional Australians face an additional set of barriers when it comes to seeking help.
