Daylesford Hepburn United Soccer Club will work towards 50% female player and committee representation to encourage more local women and girls to get involved.

This is thanks to the Victorian Government’s 2023-24 Change Our Game Community Activation Grant Program which will see 119 sporting clubs around the state awarded grants of up to $10,000.

Minister for Community Sport, Ros Spence, encourages more local women and girls to have a go at kicking the footy, soccer ball, hitting an over or shooting a goal.

Minister Spence says it’s about achieving equity in grassroots sport.

If being on the pitch or sporting field is not for you, the Bendigo Umpire Association also wants to see more women taking up the whistle!

AFL Central Victoria’s Umpire Manager, James Mannix, says local Samantha Bramley is leading the charge.
