The electorate of Mallee will be Victoria’s hottest by 2090 if no action is taken to reduce climate pollution, according to a new heat map by the Climate Council.
The map calculates the long-term effects on local temperatures if there’s no action to cut back on burning coal, oil and gas.
It’s predicted without changes, by 2090 the electorate will have 58 days of the year over 35 degrees, up from the current 25 days.
