Trains were halted along the Bendigo line as emergency services responded to an out-of-control fire at Malmsbury’s historic train station.
Firefighters were called to the Malmsbury Railway Station at about 5.30 yesterday afternoon, where they discovered the Old Station Masters House on fire.
CFA says the roof of the building appeared to be partially destroyed and the internal damage is not yet clear.
The station was one of the oldest in Victoria, originally built in 1862.
CFA says it is not yet clear how bad the damage is, or which part of the complex the fire broke out in.
Crews deemed the fire at the Station under control just after 6:30pm.
