A 39-year-old woman was attacked with a box cutter in Maryborough last night.
Police are investigating the incident where they believe a man approached a woman in Tuaggra Street at about 6.30 pm.
The man allegedly made a demand for the woman’s car before assaulting her with a box cutter.
The man allegedly fled the scene in a taxi, before officers located him on the Pyrenees Highway a short time later.
The 39-year-old woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 29-year-old man was arrested and transported to hospital for assessment under police guard.
