A whopping $877 million joint funding package, between the state and federal governments, has been announced for sports clubs, organisations and businesses in the region impacted by recent floods.

As part of the package, medium-to-large-businesses can receive up to $200,000 and sports clubs up to $50,000.
In addition, local landholders can apply for grants of up to $75,000 through the Primary Producer Concessional Loan Program.

Local federal member Lisa Chesters told Gold that the arrangement between the two governments will make it simpler to support local recovery efforts.
“I’m able to raise, directly with the minister, Minister Murray Watt, what our region needs,” she said.
“We are very keen to work collaboratively with local groups, with councils, with the state government, to get the recovery happening sooner and quicker.”.
