More local clubs are voicing the inequality that women in sports face when it comes to facilities.
Wendy Lovell, Liberal Member for Northern Victoria, is calling for the government to fund female change rooms for netballers at Kyneton Football Netball Club.
Currently, female players are getting changed in a sheep shed with no showers which is infested with rats and mold.
Macedon Ranges Council has adopted a master plan to upgrade Kyneton Showgrounds, which includes new netball courts and change facilities, but it may be several seasons away before the project is completed.
The netball season is about to begin, and netballers deserve a clean, safe, and dignified space where they can change in and out of their uniforms.
Kyneton FNC will be one of many local clubs applying for the Federal Play Our Way grants officially opening later this month.
