The recent inquiry has brought to light how the state government requested local MPs involved with the organisation of the event to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), including Bendigo’s previous CEO Craig Neiman.
Andrew Cooney, the current CEO said he is not aware of the details surrounding the NDA and was not asked to sign one when taking on the role.
Cooney tells the committee that Bendigo council is yet to receive any funding for any legacy projects, promised by the State Government following the cancellation of the event.
Previously the director for the Commonwealth Games for the City of Greater Bendigo, Cooney was summoned to speak at the inquiry in Bendigo yesterday.
Cooney tells the committee that projects are at a standstill until they hear more.
