Regional Aged Care Struggles to Meet New Requirements

Regional Aged Care providers are struggling to keep up with the new demands of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner, with hundreds of full-time vacancies for aged care nurses in the Greater Bendigo area.

From this month, residential aged care homes must provide an average of 200 minutes of aged care per resident per day, including at least 40 minutes from a registered nurse.

The Commissioner, Janet Anderson, says they’ll continue to work with regional aged care homes to ensure they can deliver appropriate care to residents.
