In her first regional visit as the Victorian Premier, Jacinta Allan officially opened the Campaspe Community Recovery Hub and stressed that Rochester is a key part of the state government’s $1 billion big housing build.
The Big Housing Build is thanks to redirected funds from the cancelled 2026 Commonwealth Games and will see 1300 permanent social affordable housing units built in regional Victoria.
Premier Allan continues to defend the cancelled games, telling the ABC the costs just didn’t stack up.
