Southwick calls for Apology over Commonwealth Games Cancellation

Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for the Commonwealth Games, David Southwick, is calling for an apology from the Andrews government following pulling the pin in Regional Victoria hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

At a press conference on Friday, David Southwick, along with National Party Members for the Northern Victoria Region, Gaelle Broad and Wendy Lovell discussed the fallout in Bendigo from the cancellation of the Commonwealth Games.

Southwick expressed his utter disappointment in the decision to cancel the games.

Southwick also expressed his concern over how this will affect the Bendigo region, locals, venues, and small businesses.
