New figures by the Herald Sun show car thefts have doubled over the past 10 years with just under 300 vehicles stolen in Bendigo in 2022, compared to 142 thefts reported in 2013.
The Holden Commodore is the most stolen vehicle followed by Ford Falcons.
However this is not the highest report of car thefts in the region, with 318 reported stolen in 2020.
