An unlikely political partnership is pushing Australia’s competition regulator to “smash the supermarket duopoly”.

Under the push from the Greens and the Nationals, yet to be introduced to federal parliament, the ACCC would be able to force the breakup of big supermarket chains.

Leader of the Nationals, David Littleproud tells this newsroom that the ongoing Supermarket inquiry has revealed that Central Victorians are also falling victim to skyrocketing prices.
