Over the past two weeks, V/Line workers have taken strike action for better conditions and better pay.
The Union notified V/Line of its intention to take industrial action 3am and 7am on Monday 12 and Friday 23 February.
Matt Carrick, CEO of V/Line sits down with our in-house reporter, Tayla Oates, to discuss the strikes and what commuters can expect.
Due to the full train network closure, passengers are advised to avoid travelling in the morning as only a very limited number of coaches will run between Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill along the Sunbury Line.
Trains will progressively return from approximately 8am but delays and cancellations will continue across the day, and services may be busier than usual while we work to recover the timetable.
Freight trains will continue to operate during the planned industrial action so always obey warning signs at level crossings.
Schools will be notified directly with information about service changes and travel advice for students.
Additional services for special events are scheduled to run as planned but passengers are encouraged to check the V/Line or PTV websites before travelling.
