A 13-hour V/Line delay is stopping regional workers and students from getting into the city.
Members of the Rail Tram and Bus Union plan to bring the regional passenger network to a standstill as part of an ongoing dispute over conditions and pay.
The Department of Transport says “An extremely limited, infrequent coach replacement service will run for essential journeys with delays of two hours or more expected, including extended wait and travel times.”
They are also advising those driving on key routes into Melbourne should expect increased traffic.
